Women's Golfer of the Week

Manisa Isavas, Sophomore, Toledo

Tournament Name: Rocket Classic

Finish in Event: First

Scores: 220 (70-79-71)

Sophomore Manisa Isavas earned medalist honors for the first time in her collegiate career to help Toledo dominate the Rocket Classic with a 35-stroke victory over Bowling Green. Isavas registered her best two rounds as a collegian with a two-under par 70 in her first 18 holes on Monday before concluding tournament play with a one-under par 71 on Tuesday. Isavas, who finished one stroke ahead of classmate Sathika Ruenreong, tied for the tournament lead with 10 birdies and finished at two-under par and even-par on the par-four and par-five holes, respectively.

 

Men's Golfer of the Week

Keegan McKinney, Freshman, Ball State

Tournament Name: Crooked Stick Intercollegiate

Finish in Event: T-17th

Scores: 224 (76-71-77)

Keegan McKinney tied for 17th place out of 75 golfers in a strong field at this week’s Crooked Stick Intercollegiate for the best finish of his young career. The freshman carded a 54-hole total of 8-over par 224 and was the top finisher among the three MAC teams that competed at the event. The tournament included six of the top 50 teams in the Golfstat national rankings and 11 of the top 100.

Angela Codian, Sophomore, Ohio

Tournament Name: Rocket Classic

Finish Event: Eighth

Scores: 230 (79-74-77)

Angela’s 230 score marks her fifth career top-10 finish at Ohio. Her performance in the Rocket Classic helped the Bobcats finish in eight place. Angela achieved 35 pars throughout the 54-hole tournament.

 

Frida Fougberg, Sophomore, Akron

Tournament Name: Rocket Classic

Finish in Event: T-14th

Scores: 233 (79-79-75)

Frida Fougberg had her best finish of the fall schedule this week, posting a top-15 finish at the Rocket Classic. She opened play with back-to-back rounds of 7-over 77 on Monday before climbing 13 spots during the third and final round on Tuesday. She ended the week with a round of 3-over 75 for her second top-25 performance in four events this fall.

 

Laura Moutrey, Junior, Western Michigan

Tournament Name: Rocket Classic

Finish in Event: Fourth

Scores: 226 (74-79-73)

Laura Moutrey, one day after carding a career-low 74, went one shot lower and fired a 1-over par 73.  Moutrey registered the best tournament finish of her collegiate career, placing fourth, while also besting her career low 54-hole score (226).\

 

Stuart Grehan, Sophomore, Eastern Michigan

Tournament Name: Crooked Stick Invitational

Finish in Event: T-29th

Scores: 229 (76-74-76)

Sophomore Stuart Grehan was the Eagles' top finisher posting a 13-over par 229 (76-74-76) to finish in a tie for 29th place.  The tournament marked the last one of the fall for the Eagles. The spring campaign gets under way in February when the squad travels to Dade City, Fla., to compete in the Mid-American Conference Match Play Tournament, Feb. 10-11.
