CLEVELAND, Ohio – Mid-American Conference coaches have voted, the Miami Redhawks women’s team and the Eastern Michigan Eagles men’s team are each predicted to capture the 2014 MAC Championship in swimming and diving.
Both Miami and EMU are the defending champions from 2013. The Eagles look to win their 32nd MAC championship this year while Miami seeks their 18th.
Last year’s MAC title was the 21st out of the last 25 for EMU Head Coach Peter Linn's teams.
Missouri is in the second place spot looking for revenge this season as they finished only six points behind EMU at the MAC Championship last year.
Buffalo and SIU are tabbed to finish third and fourth this season.
Rounding out the rest of the preseason poll is Miami in fifth, Ball State in sixth and Evansville in Seventh, respectively.
For the women’s poll, Miami looks to have another perfect season against conference competition, as they went 6-0 last season.
Bowling Green is predicted to finish second while Ohio and buffalo are tabbed to finish third and fourth this season.
The Toledo Rockets are picked to finish fifth while EMU, Akron and Ball State are predicted to finish in the six, seven, and eight spots.
