Following losses at Xavier and at Pittsburgh last Saturday Kent State is looking to end a two game losing streak.

2 p.m. • Akron leads series 6-1
• Akron plays for the second time in three days and continues a five-day stretch in which it competes three times - concluding against UIC on Tuesday. Akron has won back-to-back games and has been the victor in six of its last seven outings. After starting the season 0-2, the team won four straight before suffering a 74-62 loss at top-25 ranked Texas A&M on Dec. 4. In Friday's 83-59 win over UNC Greensboro, the Zips shot a season-high 58.9 percent (33-for-56) from the field, while holding the Spartans to a 35.3 percent (18-for-51) shooting percentage. Anthony "Humpty" Hitchens led UA with 14 points - one of four double-figure scorers for the Zips. Akron took a double-digit lead early in the first half and led 38-24 at the break, then went up by as much as 32 points in the second period. Akron does not have a player averaging double-figure points, but four are averaging 8.1 points per game or higher. Anthony "Humpty" Hitchens leads the squad at 9.2 ppg, while Brett McKnight (8.6 ppg), Darryl Roberts (8.3 ppg) and Nikola Cvetinovic (8.1 ppg) follow.
Texas A&M-C.C. (4-4, 0-0 Southland) at Kent State (5-4, 0-0 MAC)

• For the first time in nearly a month Kent State will be in action at the M.A.C. Center when the Golden Flashes host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Sunday. The match-up will be KSU's only home game in an eight game stretch. Following losses at Xavier and at Pittsburgh last Saturday Kent State is looking to end a two game losing streak. Despite scoring just 59 points against a defensive-minded Pitt team, the Golden Flashes had four players reach double figures for the fourth time this season. The team's most consistent player, sophomore forward Justin Greene shot 7-12 FGs and totaled a team high 17 points. Greene, who it shooting 53.2 percent from the field is the only KSU player to lead the team in scoring more than twice this season. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is returning to action for the first time since a Dec. 6 loss at Houston. The Islanders have lost two straight following a three game winning streak. Kevin Palmer, a 6-6 guard, already has four 20-point games this season and leads the team with 19.8 points per game.
