Western Michigan Selected To Defend Its MAC Men's Tennis Championship
Cleveland, OH - In the 2014 MAC Men’s Tennis preseason poll conducted among the Mid-American Conference men's tennis coaches, Western Michigan was selected to capture both the regular season title and the MAC Tournament championship.
The Broncos are the defending MAC tournament champion and were selected to capture both the regular season and tournament titles. Last season, as the No. 2 seed Western Michigan defeated No. 4 seed Northern Illinois, 4-3, for the Broncos second consecutive MAC Tournament Championship, the programs eighth in the last ten years and the tenth overall MAC Tournament Championship under head coach David Morin.
Returning First-Team All MAC honorees from last year include two-time First Team All MAC selections senior Nadin Indre of Western Michigan, junior Ray Leonard of Ball State and junior Dor Amir of Northern Illinois. Also, senior Axel Lagerlof of Northern Illinois returns as a 2013 First-Team All MAC honoree and a 2012 Second Team selection.
Returning Second-Team All-MAC selections from last year include junior Damien David of Buffalo, who was also a 2012 First-Team honoree, and junior Frederic Cadeiux of Northern Illinois.
The 2014 MAC Men’s Tennis Tournament is scheduled for April 25-26 on the campus of Ball State University in Muncie, Ind.
