Male Scholar Athlete of the Week: October 7-13
Ball State Keith Wenning (Football, Senior, 3.340, Business)
The only quarterback in the country to have thrown for at least 300 years in seven games this season, senior quarterback Keith Wenning turned in another strong performance in guiding the Cardinals to a 27-24 victory over Kent State last Saturday. In the game, Wenning completed 23-of-46 passes for 305 yards and four touchdowns to help the Cardinals improve to 6-1 overall, 3-0 in the Mid-American Conference and become bowl eligible for the third consecutive season. With the Cardinals trailing 24-20 and just 3:12 left in the game, Wenning engineered a five-play, 57-yard drive which was capped by a game-winning seven-yard touchdown pass to Willie Snead. Wenning also had touchdown strikes of 39 yards (2Q to Sneed), 25 yards (3Q to Jamill Smith) and two years (3Q to Jordan Williams).
