Western Michigan Picked To Defend Its MAC Men's Tennis Championship

Cleveland, OH - With the conference season to begin later this month, the preseason poll conducted among the Mid-American Conference men's tennis coaches Western Michigan was selected to capture both the regular season title and the MAC Tournament championship.  The Broncos are the defending MAC tournament champion and were selected to defend both titles. Last season, Western Michigan defeated Buffalo for the Broncos ninth tournament championship under head coach David Morin.

Returning First-Team All-MAC honorees from last year include Ball State sophomore Ray Leonard, Buffalo sophomore Damien David, who was also last year’s Newcomer of the Year, and senior Vusa Hove, Northern Illinois sophomore Dor Amir, Toledo sophomore Tomas Stillman and Western Michigan junior Nadin Indre, who was also last year’s Player of the Year.
 
Returning Second-Team All-MAC selections from last year include Ball State senior Dalton Albertin, Northern Illinois junior Axel Lagerlof and Western Michigan senior Ross VanderPloeg.
 
The 2013 MAC Men’s Tennis Tournament is scheduled for April 26-27 on the campus of Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill.  The complete voting totals are as follows with five of the six head coaches casting votes.
