• Bowling Green closes out the regular season Friday night with a home game against Buffalo at 6 p.m. BGSU is still playing for seeding for the MAC Tournament and could finish as high as fifth or as low as eighth. This is the third consecutive year in which Bowling Green and Buffalo have played in the final game of the regular season. With 70 blocked shots this year, Richaun Holmes is BGSU’s all-time single-season leader....The Bulls are coming off a 72-69 loss to Ohio on Tuesday night. Will Regan led the Bulls with 20 points and eight rebounds. Javon McCrea added 19 points and five rebounds for the Bulls. McCrea is the first player in school history to make 200 field goals in a season (212). He has made 39 more field goals than any other player in the MAC (BG’s A’uston Calhoun has 173). In addition, McCrea is the only player to rank in the top three in the MAC in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage and blocked shots.

• Akron looks to end its successful regular season today with a win against Kent State. The Zips and Golden Flashes will play on TV for the 24th-straight game, the longest streak in the MAC between two league programs. Akron has won 20 of its last 21 games dating back to Dec. 15. During the current run, the Zips are out-scoring their opponents by 12.6 points/game and hold a +8.2 rebounding advantage. UA is shooting 46.0 percent from the field while holding opponents to 38.1 percent shooting from the field and 31.7 percent from behind the arc. The Zips have won 27 of their last 31 and 33 of the last 39 regular-season MAC games... Kent State’s two seniors, Chris Evans (16.8 ppg) & Randal Holt (14.5 ppg), combine to average 31.3 points per game, which accounts for 43.6 percent of the Golden Flashes’ scoring. The duo accounted for 82 of the team’s 161 points scored in last week’s victories over Buffalo and Miami. Evans is the only player to rank among the top 10 in the MAC in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, steals, and minutes played.
