MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCE ANNOUNCES MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week
Nadin Indre, Western Michigan – Junior, Satu Mare, Romania
Western Michigan junior Nadin Indre was dominant in singles play against top-flight competition last week, registering No. 1 singles wins against #36 Drake and Iowa. Indre defeated the #72 singles player in the country in Drake's James McKie on Saturday, controlling the tempo in defeating McKie 6-2, 6-2 in the Broncos' loss to the Bulldogs. Indre continued his dominance on Sunday, earning both a singles and doubles win against the Hawkeyes. Indre teamed with Ruben Greiner to defeat the Hawkeyes' Michael Swank and Garret Dunn 8-6 in No. 1 doubles play, and went on to beat Matt Hagan 6-3, 6-2. Indre is 11-3 overall in singles play this year, including a 10-2 in dual matches and a 9-2 record at No. 1.

Vusa Hove, Buffalo – Senior, Harare, Zimbabwe
Buffalo senior Vusa Hove went 3-0 in his matches against Niagara and Duquesne as the Bulls won both contests. In the Duquesne match on Saturday, Hove, playing first singles, gave the Bulls the clinching fourth point but it wasn’t easy for the senior. After dropping the opening set, 6-0, to Rich Robbie, Hove rallied in the second set for a 6-3 win to force a deciding third set. The third set remained on serve until the 11th game when Hove broke serve to take a 6-5 lead and was serving for the match. However, Robbie rallied in the 12th game to force the 6-6 tiebreaker. Hove won the opening two points of the deciding breaker, but dropped the next three to trail 3-2. Hove then claimed the next five points in the tiebreaker for a 7-3 margin and winning the set, 7-6. In Friday’s win over Niagara, he downed David Raymond, 6-2, 6-4. He also paired with Sebastian Ionescu to clinch the doubles point against the Purple Eagles with an 8-3 win over Brandon Gallegos and Lorenz Schwojer.
Frederic Cadieux, Northern Illinois – Sophomore, Verdun, Quebec, Canada
Northern Illinois sophomore Frederic Cadieux finished 3-1 last weekend in Northern Illinois' weekend split vs. Western Illinois and Green Bay, highlighted by two wins in doubles. Cadieux won his singles match against Western Illinois in dominating fashion, 6-0, 6-1, and teamed with two separate doubles partners, Dor Amir and Jovan Zeljkovic, to help seal the Huskies doubles point victories. With the doubles point triumph, Northern Illinois gained the upper hand on the one-loss phoenix in the match.
Grant Adams, Toledo – Sophomore, Texarkana, Texas
Toledo sophomore Grant Adams went a perfect 4-0 over the weekend, helping the Rockets to capture wins over Marquette and Wisconsin-Green Bay. On Saturday, Adams won in straight sets at No. 2 singles (6-4, 7-5) and recorded a victory at No. 2 doubles to hand Marquette its first home loss this season, 5-2. Adams continued his dominance with another victory in the second singles flight in straight sets (7-5, 6-3) during Toledo’s 5-2 win over the Phoenix. He also claimed the No. 2 doubles for the second consecutive match with teammate Francisco Stuardo. Adams has won his previous 11 matches in singles competition and hasn’t lost a match since he went down in straight sets to Binghamton on Jan. 26.
