Day One Results - MAC Indoor Track and Field Championships

Day 1 - Complete Results 
Championship Central 

Ypsilanti, MI -  With the first day of competition gone underway for the Indoor Track and Field Championships, Kent State leads the team standings for the women, while Akron leads the team standings for the men's side. 

From the 12 women's teams competing Kent State tops the field with 58 points, followed by Akron with 42,  Toledo 29, Western Michigan 23, Eastern Michigan 22.5, Miami 21.5, Buffalo 18, Ohio 12, Central Michigan 7, Northern Illinois 1, lastly Ball State and Bowling Green with 0.

Freshman standout  and leader in the high and triple jump Dior Delophont  took first place in the long jump with a mark of 19'08.75". Shanequa Williams, also of Kent State leads with the top qualifying time in both the 200 and 400-meterdash .

Other top scorers for Kent State include Jackie Leppelmeier in the shot put, Jackie Domenica Rossi in the pole vault and Diana Dumitresc in the pentathlon. 

On the men's side Akron leads with 52, followed by Eastern Michigan 43,  Kent State 35,  Buffalo 32,  and Central Michigan 27.

Tyshaun Peoples earned the title in the men's long jump with a mark 24-08.25, while teammates Nick Banke and Casey Slane combined for nine points in the shot put. 

Kyle Cochrun broke his personal program record in the 5,000-meters with a time of 14:38.94 taking third place finish.
