Co-Male Scholar Athlete of the Week: February 11 – February 17, 2013

Nadin Indre (Junior, 3.85, Pre-Business) helped Western Michigan extend its win streak to five matches, as the Broncos swept both ends of the doubleheader with a 7-0 win over Valparaiso and a 5-2 win over Youngstown State on Friday.  In the first match against Valparaiso, Indre teamed up with Ruben Greiner to win the no. 1 doubles match against Valparaiso and its pair of Lucas Waak and Eric Honert 6-0, 6-2.  Indre then went on to win the no. 1 singles match against Honert 6-0,6-2.  Against Youngstown State Indre earned his second singles win of the day, defeating fellow Romanian Silviu Mistreanu 6-3, 6-2 in the no. 1 singles to tie the match at that time.
 
The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during the week’s competition. The winners are selected by a group of the conference’s faculty athletic representatives.
