Steve Siomos Named MAC Coordinator of Soccer Officials

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced today the hiring of Steve Siomos as the league’s Coordinator of Officials for both men’s and women’s soccer. Siomos will be responsible for the MAC men’s and women’s soccer officiating programs, including training and development of the conference roster. He will oversee all of the MAC’s officiating assignments for both non-conference and conference play, while also facilitating all regular season and postseason evaluations.

Siomos, who brings over 30 years of intercollegiate soccer experience to the MAC, is familiar with the league, having previously served as the assignor for Northern Illinois and Akron non-conference games. He also currently serves as the Coordinator of Officials for the Big Ten, the Summit League and Horizon League.
Siomos previously served as a soccer official from 1982-2002, refereeing games for 20 years before retiring to serve as an assignor. Simos has refereed in a total of seven Final Fours. 
Siomos has been  a member of the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association (NISOA) since 1982.
