Broncos Nadin Indre Named MAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Week

Male Scholar Athlete of the Week: December 31 – January 6, 2013

Nadin Indre (Junior, 3.85, Business) kicked off the season with a pair of wins against Detroit on January 11. Indre teamed up with fellow Bronco Stephen Payne to defeat Detroit 8-7, (7-3) in a very close number one doubles match.  In singles, he defeated Detroit’s Mike Basha 6-3,6-2 in the number two singles match.  The junior kept the ball rolling against #41 Northwestern on January 13 winning both his singles and doubles matches.  He opened up doubles by defeating Northwestern’s pair of Spencer Wolf and Fedor Baev   8-5 in the number one doubles match.  In singles, after dropping the first set 5-7, Indre won the next two sets 6-3 and 10-8 to take the number one singles match.  Indre is 4-0 on the young season going 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles.
 
The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during the week’s competition. The winners are selected by a group of the conference’s faculty athletic representatives.
