Ball State
Ball State's gymnastics team opens its 2013 home schedule Friday at 7 p.m. vs. Central Michigan in Irving Gym in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center.
The Cardinals, 0-2 on the season, will open not only the home portion of its schedule, but also the Mid-American Conference season. 
Friday's meet is Cardinal Varsity Club Night and all CVC members are encouraged to attend.  Admission to the gymnastics meet is free of charge.
Ball State opened the season against the nation's No. 3 ranked Florida Gators before travelling to Iowa, a team that has participated in three straight NCAA Regionals.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team hits the road for the first time this season to open its Mid-American Conference schedule against Northern Illinois.  The Falcons are coming off two straight home losses to start the season with an average score of 191.650.  
 
Central Michigan 
MOUNT PLEASANT – The 16th-ranked Central Michigan gymnastics team will make its first road trip of the season this week, traveling to Muncie, Ind. to face Ball State on Friday, Jan. 18 in the Chippewas’ 2013 MAC opener. The dual meet, which will take place at the Cardinals’ Irving Gymnasium, is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
 
Eastern Michigan 
YPSILANTI, Mich.  –  The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team begins its 2013 campaign Sunday, Jan. 20, by traveling to Kalamazoo, Mich. to take on the Western Michigan University Broncos at 1 p.m. The Eagles open up with conference play to begin their 31st season under head coach Steve Wilce.
 
KENT, Ohio - The Kent State Gymnastics team (0-1) will try not to dwell on their closest loss in a dual meet since the 2001 season when they visit Penn State (1-1) to take on the Nittany Lions as well as the Minnesota Golden Gophers (1-0) and the Towson Tigers (1-0). Northern Illinois

DeKALB, Ill. – After opening the 2013 season with its highest first meet score since 2009, the Northern Illinois gymnastics team looks to build on that performance in its 2013 Mid-American Conference season opener versus Bowling Green Saturday at the NIU Convocation Center.  
 
The meet begins at 5 p.m. as the first half of a gymnastics/men’s basketball doubleheader with one ticket good for admission to both events. 
 
In last week’s season-opener, Northern Illinois scored a 192.175 to earn a narrow victory by .125 over Illinois State to go to 1-0 on the year.   Junior Kim Gotlund (Wadsworth, Ill./Warren Township HS), a 2012 NCAA Regional participant in the all-around, led the Huskies on three of four events to post a 38.750 all-around score, while Natasha Jufko (Spring Hill, Fla./Pasco-Hernando HS) scored a 9.825 on balance beam to earn MAC Specialist of the Week honors.
