• Miami seeks to snap a four-game losing streak and move to 3-0 on the season at home but faces a tough challenge in UIC, which is 9-2 on the season, winning eight of its last nine. In Miami’s three wins, the RedHawks have surpassed the 70-point plateau, but in their five losses MU has failed to hit the 70-point benchmark. Miami averages 76.0 ppg in wins and 57.0 ppg in losses.

• Ohio will look to move to 8-1 at home this season during Saturday’s matinee matchup with Maryland Eastern Shore at the Convocation Center. Ohio will aim to break a two-game losing streak that has included setbacks to Winthrop (50-49) on Dec. 15 and at Massachusetts (85-76) on Dec. 19. Heading into Saturday’s game, Ohio is 7-1 in eight home contests inside the Convocation Center this season. The Bobcats are averaging 72.9 points per game and have limited their opponents to just 54.9 points per game. Overall, the `Cats have triumphed in 16 of their past 17 games at home.

• Eastern Michigan will take on another in-state rival Oakland University Saturday, Dec. 22. Eastern and the Golden Grizzlies have squared off 12 times before Saturday’s showdown. When playing at home this season, the Eagles are a perfect 6-0. Eastern shoots a blistering 40.9 percent within the friendly confines of the Convocation Center, while holding its opponents to just 35.0 percent shooting from the floor. The Eagles also hold their opponents to 49.8 points per game when playing in Ypsilanti.
