Corey Conners, Kent State

Playing in a tournament in which 14 of the 15 teams were listed among the Golfweek's pre-season top 25 in the nation, including Alabama (No. 1), California (2), Texas (3), UCLA (5), Washington (6), Arkansas (7),Texas A&M (9), Kent State (13), UNLV (15), Florida State (16), Georgia (17), New Mexico (18), Chattanooga (24), along with 2012 NCAA Championship semifinalist, San Diego State, Kent State junior all-american Corey Conners (Listowel, Ontario) placed tied for 12th with a +2, 212 (73-71-68) on the same course that will host the 2012 NCAA Championship. Conners' posted a final round –2, 68 that vaulted him 17 spots in the individual standings to earn his top 12 finish.
Women's Co - Golfers of the Week:
Jenna Hague, Ball State
Sophomore, Burlington, Ontario (Nelson)
Hague tied for first place at Ball State’s Cardinal Classic before falling in a playoff for individual medalist honors and finishing as the runner-up. She carded a 36-hole score of 7-over par 151 (75-76) in challenging conditions on a cool, windy weekend. Hague, who posted her second straight top-5 result to open the season, led Ball State to an eight-stroke team victory in the 12-team field. She erased a three-shot deficit entering the final round to force the playoff at The Players Club, a par-72, 6,258-yard layout. The runner-up finish marked the seventh career top-5 result in just 13 career tournaments for the sophomore and reigning MAC individual medalist.
Alyssa Kwon, Eastern Michigan
Junior, Richmond Hills, Ontario (Richmond Hills)
Capped a stellar performance by sharing medalist honors at the Wolverine Invitational Sunday afternoon here at the par 71, 6,167 yard U-M Golf Course. The Richmond Hills, Ontario native torched the U-M Golf Course Saturday with rounds of 75 and 75 before turning in a final round 77 to finish at 14-over par 227. Michigan's Alicia Weber and Florida International's Meghan MacLaren also notched a two-day totals of 227 en route to being named co-medalists.The victory marked Kwon's first career tournament title along with equaling the third lowest 54 holes round of her career. Kwon's three-round record is a 223 set at the Lumberjack Shootout at Wigwam, March 14-16, 2011, and at the Pat Bradley Invitational, Oct.23-25, 2011. Her victory also marked the second time an EMU student-athlete has won the Wolverine Invitational, Stephany Fleet carded a 219 (72-70-77) in 2007 to take home the hardware. In her career, Kwon has two top-five showings and four top 10 finishes. Overall, Kwon is the sixth Eagle to claim medalist honors in the program's 17-year history joining Stephanie Smoot, Kelly Pickett, Catherine Fortin, Stephany Fleet and Sarah Johnson in the select group.

Wes Gates, Bowling Green
Senior, Novi, Michigan (Northville)
Wes Gates won his second tournament in as many weeks, carding a 54-hole score of 209 (70-67-72) at the Cardinal Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Louisville. Gates won the tournament by three shots, helping the Falcons to a second-place finish among the 15-team field. Gates’ 72 in the final round snapped a streak of seven straight rounds under par.
Spencer Slade, Eastern Michigan
Senior (Saline, Mich.-Saline-Savannah State)
Turned in top-50 showing, placing in a tie for 50th place at the 2012 Windon Memorial Classic, Sept. 23-24. The Saline, Mich. native carded a 74 in the final round to finish with a 232 (82-76-74). On the 7,081 yard, par-71 Skokie Country Club course, the Eagles finished in 12th place with a team score of 931 (316-302-313).
Chris Selfridge, Toledo
Sophomore, Castledawson, Northern Ireland
Chris Selfridge tied for eighth place at the Windon Memorial Classic with a six-over 219 (75-73-71). It marked the first Top 10 finish of the season and fifth of his young Rocket career.
Bailey Arnold, Bowling Green
Junior, Cincinnati Ohio, (Seton)
Bailey Arnold finished third at the Cleveland State Invitational with a 36-hole score of 153 (77-76), helping the Falcons to their first team win since the 2008 Falcon Invitational. Arnold was two shots off of the tournament win, helping the Falcons rally from six shots back to win the tournament.
Connie Ellett, Northern Illinois
Freshman, Hampshire, Ill. (Hampshire)
Connie Ellett was the top golfer for Northern Illinois finishing fifth at the Cardinal Classic hosted by Ball State. The freshman shot a 153,her lowest score of the season. Ellett was the only Huskie to post scores inthe 70s in both rounds and helped vault NIU to a seventh place finish afterstarting the day in ninth.
Angela Codian, Ohio University

Opponent Results: Team finished T8th at 2012 Cardinal Classic … Angela tied for third place at tournament
Angela had a great weekend for the Ohio Women’s Golf Program, tying for third place in the field of 74 golfers at the 2012 Cardinal Classic in Yorktown, Ind. In just the second tournament of her collegiate career, Codian was the first finisher for Ohio, pacing her team to an eighth-place tie at the competition. Codian shot a 79 in the first round of the tournament on Saturday before dropping six strokes on Sunday to card a 73, ending the competition with a two-round score of 152. The freshman finished only one stroke behind Jenna Hague and Korakot Simsiriwong, who split first-place honors before a playoff.
Allison Schultz, Toledo
Senior, Cincinnati, OH
Senior Allison Schultz registered her second Top 10 showing of the 2012-13 campaign with a 19-over par 232 (78-76-78) to tie for sixth place at Michigan’s Wolverine Invitational.
Heather Marks, Western Michigan
Junior, Byron Center, Mich. (South Christian)
Heather Marks continues her strong fall establishing a new career low round (75), career low 36-hole score (155) and career best finish at the Cardinal Classic. Her play helped Western Michigan finish alone in second place for the team's best finish thus far in the 2012 fall season. Not only was her tie for eighth her career best finish, it was also her first career top-10 finish.
