Matt Rosinski (pitcher, Sr., 3.80, accountancy and finance) graduated magna cum laude with a 3.80 GPA on Saturday with a bachelor’s degree from Miami’s Farmer School of Business in accounting and finance. He earned saves in both of his appearances during the weekend sweep of Akron, pitching the final two innings in a 4-3 win over the Zips on Friday, allowing four hits and an earned run but held on to get Miami the win as the ‘Hawks led by two when he entered. He settled down on Sunday by retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth inning of another 4-3 win. Rosinski finished the week with a 3.00 ERA while his appearance Sunday was the 98th of his career, ranking him second in Miami pitching history. He now has seven saves on the year, tied for the seventh most in a single season at Miami. His nine career saves put him tied for eighth on Miami’s all-time saves list.

The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during the week’s competition. The winners are selected by a group of the conference’s faculty athletic representatives.
