Women's Golfer of the Week
Shannon Warner, Eastern Michigan
Senior, Livonia, Mich. / Livonia Churchill / Michigan State

Senior Shannon Warner shot a final round 72 to finish fourth with a two-day total of 218 (70-76-72) at the the UALR Women's Golf Classic, March 26-27. It was her second top-five showing of the season. As a team, EMU posted a resurgent day two after residing in eighth place after day one. The Eagles turned in a third-round score of 292 to finish with a total of 899 in a tie for third place with Middle Tennessee State.

Men's Golfer of the Week
Taylor Pendrith, Kent State
Sophomore, Richmond Hill, Ontario

Kent State Sophomore Taylor Pendrith (Richmond Hill, Ontario) finished runner-up as at the Barona Collegiate Cup this past week.  Pendrith's 54-hole score of 205 (-11; 66-72-68) tied for the fourth lowest in school history and paced the Golden Flashes to a 1067 (-13; 343-367-357) in a rare count-five format.  In a field that featured nine teams ranked in the top 50, Pendrith led No. 23/26 Kent State top fifth place in the team standings.  Pendrith, who was three back of the leader J.J. Spaun of San Diego State, capped off his finest tournament as a collegian with a tidy 68 (-4) on Friday that included four birdies and no bogeys.  It was his second sub-70 round of the toournament coupled with a 65 (-7) on Thursday. On the year the Kent State sophomore has six top 25 finishes in eight events and ranks No. 78 in the nation in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings.  

Other Nominees:
Drew Preston, Bowling Green
Senior -- Ada, Mich. (Forest Hills)

Preston was BGSU's top golfer at the 2012 UALR-First Tee Collegiate Classic, held March 26 and 27.  He tied for 29th place with a 54-hole total of 228 (75-72-81).  Preston's second-round 72 was his best round since carding a 69 in the second round of the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate last September.

Patricia Holt, Bowling Green
Freshman -- Frisco, Texas (Frisco)

Holt tied for 22nd place and finished as BGSU's top golfer at the 2012 Low Country Intercollegiate on March 25 and 26.  She carded rounds of 79 and 80 to end the 36-hole event with a 159.  Both her tournament score and place in the final standings were her second-best of the season to date.

Autumn Duke, Ball State
Junior, Fishers, Ind. (Hamilton Southeastern H.S.)

Autumn Duke tied for ninth at the Arkansas-Little Rock Golf Classic with a 70-74-78-222….the first round 70 was a career low for Duke and the 54-hole total of 222 was a career best for Duke.  In addition, the tie for ninth was an all-time best finish for Duke.  Ball State finished 14th out of 19 teams at the event, and will return to action April 6-7 at Eastern Kentucky’s Colonel Classic in Richmond, Ky.

Megan Weaver, Ohio
Senior, Canton, Ohio 

Megan had a great outing for the Ohio University Women’s Golf team at the 2012 University of Cincinnati Spring Invitational in Crystal River, Florida this past weekend. Weaver lead the team with a three-round score of 228, finishing tied for 13th in a field of 104 golfers. The top-20 finish was the 17th of Weaver’s impressive career at Ohio. Megan shot scores of 77, 75 and 76 throughout the three rounds of play. 

Kristen Hill, Akron
Senior, Weston, Fla./Cypress Bay High School

Kristen Hill helped the Zips to a sixth-place finish at the 2012 UC Spring Invitational on Sunday.  Hill finished in 10th place thanks to a three-round score of 226 (+10).  For the weekend, Hill posted rounds of 76, 73 and 77 to pace the Zips, and record her sixth-straight top-15 finish dating back to the fall season.   Kristen has led the Zips in scoring in each of the four events this spring and is averaging 74.27 strokes per round this spring.

Derek East, Eastern Michigan
Senior, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada / St. Paul's / University of New Orleans

Senior Derek East continued his strong play for the Green and White, picking up his first top-20 finish this season with a two-day total of 224 for a 12th place tie at the the UALR/First Tee Collegiate Classic, March 26-27.
