•Kent State returns home and is looking to secure one of the top four seeds and guarantee a bye to at least the quarterfinals in the upcoming MAC Tournament. The Golden Flashes quest begins on Wednesday night at 7 pm against Ohio.A perfect 6-0 against MAC opponents at home this season, the Golden Flashes are looking to end a three game losing streak that includes a 74-58 road loss at Bowling Green on Saturday...Ohio has won four straight including an 85-61 win over Akron on Sunday. The Bobcats’ D.J. Cooper had 11 points & 10 assists in the win and leads the team with 13.8 points and 5.7 assists on the year

•Akron can earn its first Mid-American Conference regular season title and the No. 1 seed in next month’s MAC Tournament with a win over the Bulls. With a win, the Zips will post just their third undefeated home record in MAC play, joining the 2006-07 (8-0) and 2005-06 (9-0) squads. Akron has won 14-straight league games at the JAR. The Zips have won 16 of their last 18 games against MAC opponents... Buffalo enters tonight’s game with a 17-9 record and a 10-4 mark in the MAC. The Bulls have lost three-of-four games and are 6-7 on the road this season.The squad has three players scoring in double figures, including Mitchell Watt (15.6 ppg), Javon McCrea (15.2 ppg) and Zach Filzen (12.3 ppg). Watt is the team’s leading rebounder (7.7 rpg).

•Ball State returns home to Worthen Arena Wednesday night as it hosts Mid-American Conference West Division foe Central Michigan. Game time is set for 7 p.m. The Cardinals have dropped nine straight MAC games after opening league play with a 4-1 mark. Senior forward Jarrod Jones leads the team in scoring at 15.4 points per game and on the glass at 8.8 rebounds per contest... The Chippewas have won two out of their last three MAC games with wins over Toledo and Northern Illinois. Central Michigan is averaging 61.6 points per game while allowing 66.6 points per game. Sophomore Trey Zeigler leads the team in scoring at 16.0 points per game and on the glass at 6.6 rebounds per game

•The EMU men have gained at least a share of the 2011-12 Mid-American Conference West Division title with a two-game lead over both Western Michigan and Toledo with two games left in the regular season. The Eagles are on a two-game winning streak, beating Northern Illinois, 48-45, Feb. 22, and Ball State, 61-50, Feb. 25... The Broncos lost in overtime to the Eagles in their most recent meeting, falling 62-59 in Ypsilanti earlier this season. Demetrius Ward is 18 of 41 (.439) from three-point range in his last five games, including a 6 of 9 performance against BSU.

• BGSU hosts Miami Wednesday night at 7 p.m. for Senior Night in the Stroh Center. At 8-6 in MAC play, the Falcons are just one game out of position for a MAC Tournament bye with two games remaining in the regular season. Miami is battling for a home game in the MAC Tournament first round. BGSU has exceeded its overall win total from each of the past two seasons and has equaled last year’s MAC win total...The RedHawks are just 2-12 on the road this year, including 1-6 in conference play. Despite the inconsistency, Miami has a conference Player of the Year candidate in Julian Mavunga, who averages 16.9 points and 9.1 rebounds per gam

•The Rockets moved into a second-place tie in the MAC’s West Division following Saturday’s 83-74 triumph over Western Michigan. The victory extended Toledo’s winning streak to four games and was its fifth win in its last six contests. Toledo features a balanced scoring attack with five players scoring 9.0 ppg or higher. Sophomore G Rian Pearson leads the way with a 16.3 scoring mark that ranks second in the league... The Huskies (3-24, 2-12 MAC) registered their two conference wins at home vs. CMU (74-66) on Jan. 14 and Miami (62-59) on Feb. 8. Freshman G Abdel Nader leads NIU offensively with 10.5 ppg and is the only Huskie scoring in double figures.
