•BGSU and Ohio enter Wednesday night’s contest tied for fourth place in the MAC at 7-4 in league play. The Falcons have won four straight, while Ohio has lost two in a row. Bowling Green defeated Ohio 67-57 in the two teams’ first meeting. BGSU’s A’uston Calhoun was named MAC East Player of the Week Monday after averaging 23.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in the past two games... The Bobcats are 13-1 at home this season and are bating opponents by an average of 11.6 points per game. The Bobcats have lost only once at home to Bowling Green since 2003 and are 39-24 at home all-time against the Falcons Ohio has three players averaging in double figures with D.J. Cooper leading the way at 13.6 points per game. Walter Offutt is averaging 11.9 points per game and Baltic is chipping in 10.1 points per game for the Bobcats

• Akron’s 10-1 start to conference play is the best MAC start for the Zips in program history. UA’s start is also the first 10-1 start in the league since the 2005-06 season (Kent State). UA has posted an 15-2 record over the past 17 games, including winners of seven-straight. Akron has seven players averaging 7.3 or more points per game, including Zeke Marshall (10.6), Nikola Cvetinovic (10.0), Quincy Diggs (9.4), Nick Harney (9.3), Alex Abreu (8.5), Brian Walsh (8.2) and Demetrius Treadwell (7.3)...Miami enters tonight’s game with an 8-15 overall record and is 4-7 in MAC play. The RedHawks have won 3-of-4, including a 1-1 mark on the road, and are 2-10 overall away from Oxford. Miami is led by Julian Mavunga, who is first in the MAC in rebounding (9.6 rpg) and second in scoring (17.1 ppg). Brian Sullivan (10.3 ppg) is the only other player scoring in double figures.

•Toledo begins its second swing through the MAC’s West Division when it travels to Muncie, IN to visit Ball State on Wednesday, Feb. 15. Tip-off time from Worthen Arena is set for 7 p.m. Ball State is on a season-high six-game losing streak and lost all six games against the MAC’s East Division for the first time since the league went to a divisional format in 1997-98. Senior F Jarrod Jones ranks third in the MAC in scoring at 16.3 ppg and second in rebounding with 8.5 rpg. ...Toledo Sophomore G Rian Pearson has been the hottest player in the MAC over the last three weeks, averaging 21.8 ppg, 10.5 rpg, 4.7 offensive rpg and 1.5 spg in his last six games. Those stellar performances have earned the Raytown, MO native the last three MAC West Division Player of the Week accolades.

•Northern Illinois returns to action against MAC West Division competition on Wednesday, Feb. 15, when the Huskies host Western Michigan. In their first meeting of the season, Western Michigan came away with a 77-68 victory in Kalamazoo. Northern Illinois ranks fourth in the MAC in rebounding offense (35.9) and second in rebounding defense (32.0). In conference play, NIU is first in rebounding defense (29.9) and ranks third in rebounding margin (+4.1). NIU has the best defensive rebounding percentage in the league (.716) and in conference play (.735)...The Broncos have lost four-straight, including a pair of overtime losses to Kent State and Akron as well as a two-point loss last time out at Buffalo. Matt Stainbrook leads the way for Western Michigan averaging a team-high 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per contests. The Broncos have the second-best rebounding offense in the MAC, pulling down 39.0 boards per game.
