• Ohio has three players averaging in double figures with junior guard D.J. Cooper leading the way at 14.1 points per game. Junior guard Walter Offutt is second in scoring at 11.1 points per contest and junior forward Ivo Baltic is averaging 11.0 ppg Junior forward Reggie Keely is averaging a career-best 9.3 points per game and a team-high 5.2 rebounds per game.The Bobcats are also one of the top teams in the nation when it comes to guarding the perimeter, ranking 11th in the nation (27.9%)... Kent State has won four of its last five and holds sole possession of second place in the MAC East Division following a 92-87 win over Bowling Green last Saturday. Named the MAC East Player of the Week for the 10th time in his career on Monday, senior forward Justin Greene paced the Golden Flashes offense in the win producing his second straight 23 point game while going over 1,300 career points in the process. Greene, the 2011 MAC Player of the Year, has elevated his game in conference play this season averaging a league best 20.7 ppg in MAC games while shooting 61 percent from the field.

• Buffalo is 8-6 overall and 1-2 in the conference and is coming off a 52-51 loss at Miami on Saturday. The Bulls were led by Mitchell Watt who had 15 points and 10 rebounds. Javon McCrea added 16 points and tied a career high with four steals. Since the 2001-02 season, the Bulls are 7-3 against Akron at Alumni Arena...Akron is 11-6 overall and 3-0 in the MAC and is coming off a 68-63 win over Ohio on Saturday. The Zips are led by Zeke Marshall who is averaging 10.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.

• Ball State is averaging 65.9 points per game this season while leading the league in defense allowing just 58.1 points per game. Senior forward Jarrod Jones leads the Cardinals in scoring at 17.8 points per game and on the glass at 8.5 rebounds per game... The Chippewas are coming off a 74-66 loss at Northern Illinois, the first Division I victory for the Huskies this season. CMU owns a 3-1 record at home this season. Senior F Tim Toler leads the Huskies with 11.1 ppg with freshman G Abdel Nader tallying 10.3 ppg, including a season-high 22 points in Saturday’s win over the Chippewas.

• First-year Head Coach Rob Murphy’s Eagles enter the game with a 7-10 overall record and a 2-1 MAC mark. Western Michigan is in a four-way tie with EMU, Ball State and CMU for first place in the MAC West with 2-1 league marks. EMU Senior guard Antonio Green buried a three-point field goal from the top of the arc with just 1.5 seconds left to break a 48-all tie and give Eastern Michigan a 51-48 win over the Ball State University Cardinals Saturday, Jan. 14, in Worthern Arena...WMU’s Matt Stainbrook was named the MAC West Player of the Week for Jan. 16. It is the second time in three weeks he has won the award, and third time in the last four weeks a Bronco has won it.

• BGSU and Miami face each other in Oxford, Ohio with identical 1-2 MAC records Wednesday night. While BGSU’s Torian Oglesby is shooting a remarkable 86 percent from the field on the year, he is doing even better on the road. He has made 93.5 percent of his shots away from the Stroh Center, connecting on 29-of-31...This season, Miami senior forward Julian Mavunga is proving he is among the nation’s strongest players. In games played through Jan. 15, Mavunga is one of just six players nationally to average 18.0 or more points and 9.0 or more rebounds.
