•Tonight’s contest against Youngstown State in the middle contest of a five-game homestand for the Zips.  Akron has started the run at home 2-0. The Zips are 37-16 (.698) in the month of December under Dambrot, including a 24-2 mark at home (.923). The Zips’ 12-game home winning streak is currently the 20th-longest active streak in the nation (as of Dec. 17).  Nine teams, including Akron, put their streak on the line Monday. Akron has five players averaging 8.0 or more points per game, including Zeke Marshall (10.8), Nick Harney (10.6), Quincy Diggs (10.5), Nikola Cvetinovic (8.5) and  Demetrius Treadwell (8.4)...Youngstown State enters Rhodes Arena with a 6-4 record and is coming off a 86-77 road loss at Toledo on Dec. 17.  The Penguins have lost three-straight road contests and are 0-2 against the Mid-American Conference this season (L, 80-72 at Buffalo). The six-game winning streak is the longest for the Cardinals since winning seven straight last year from December 31-Jan. 22. Senior forward Jarrod Jones leads the team in scoring at 20.0 points per game and on the glass at 9.1 rebounds per game... IUPUI enters the week with a 3-8 record with all three of its victories coming at home ... The Jaguars are coming off an 84-76 victory Saturday against Western Kentucky and will host Division II opponent St. Joseph’s (Ind.) Friday. Alex Young, the reigning Summit League Player of the Year, leads the team in scoring at 20.0 points per game.
