•A home court advantage may be just what Central Michigan needs to snap a three-game skid. CMU hosts UIC this Friday, Dec. 16, in its first home game in 31 days. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. The Chippewas are led by the youthful guard trio of Trey Zeigler (17.9 ppg), Austin McBroom (11.4 ppg) and Derek Jackson (10.9 ppg). No Flame player averages in double figures as 6-1 junior guard Daniel Barnes leads the way with 9.6 points per game. Under head coach Ernie Zeigler, the Chippewas are 5-12 against Horizon League schools. CMU faced five Horizon school’s in Zeigler’s first season and then three each year since. The Chippewas play only two league schools this year — UIC and Wright State (Dec. 22). MAC schools are 6-10 overall against the Horizon League this season...The Flames are coming off a 95-53 road loss at Oregon State on Tuesday after defeating Mid-American Conference foe Northern Illinois at home on Dec. 10. UIC has played three MAC teams already this season, losing road contests at Eastern Michigan to open the year and at Toledo during Thanksgiving weekend.
