East Division Player of the Week
Courtney Osborn, Miami, Jr., G, Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern
Courtney had great all‐around games in leading Miami to two wins this past week. She was the leading scorer in both games, recording 17 points in a 56‐49 win over Marshall on Wednesday and 25 points in an 81‐56 victory over UMass on Saturday. In addition to her 21.0 points per game average, the junior point guard helped set up her teammates as well, recording 10 assists in those two games. She shot .500 (13‐for‐26) for the week and hit six total three‐pointers.
West Division Player of the Week
Amanda Corral, Northern Illinois, Fr., G, Hobart, Ind./Hobart
Corral led the Huskies to a 2‐0 week by averaging 13.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. In a two overtime win over Western Illinois, she scored 10 points and pulled down seven rebounds in addition to netting two steals in 43 minutes of play. In a win against Temple, she led all scorers with 16 points and 10 rebounds for her first collegiate double‐double, totaling four assists to boot.

Rachel Tecca, Akron, Jr., F, Tallmadge, OH/Archbishop Hoban
Akron junior forward Rachel Tecca averaged 12.5 ppg and 5.0 rpg in two contests at home as part of the Preseason WNIT. In a win over Howard, Tecca led the Zips to a comeback victory with 14 second‐half points, including the game‐winning basket with six seconds remaining. She finished the night 5‐of‐7 from the floor and 7‐of‐9 from the free throw line. Then in a close loss to Drexel, Tecca added eight points, six boards, two assists and a pair of steals in 26 minutes of action. She leads Akron with 12.7 ppg and 6.0 rpg for the season.
Chrissy Steffen, Bowling Green, Jr., G, Carmel, Ind. / Carmel
Averaged 12.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and a team‐leading 3.0 steals as the Falcons split the first two games in Stroh Center history. Had nine points as the Falcons lost by one point to nationally‐ranked Purdue. Played all 40 minutes vs. the Boilermakers, marking the first time in her career that she played an entire game. Then, scored a team‐high 16 points, adding four rebounds and a game‐high four steals, in a 17‐point win over Evansville. On the season, leads the team in scoring, is tied for third in rebounds and ranks second in both assists and steals.
Brittany Hedderson, Buffalo, Sr., G, Tecumseh, Ontario/St. Anne
Hedderson led the way in the scoring column for the Bulls with 18 points as they defeated Bucknell in their home opener on Saturday. Hedderson also had a game‐high four assists in the win. Against Duquesne earlier in the week, Hedderson had eight points and four rebounds, while also adding a career‐best two blocked shots.
Trisha Krewson, Kent State, Jr., G, Sandusky, Ohio/Perkins (Bucknell)
Kent State junior guard Trisha Krewson (Sandusky, Ohio) has gotten her blue and gold career off to a hot start, including two big performances last week. She averaged 17.5 points, 10 rebounds and 2.5 assists as the Golden Flashes (1‐2) finished the second week of the 2011‐12 season with a split. The transfer from Bucknell totaled a game‐high 18 points in Kent State’s loss at Robert Morris last Tuesday (Nov. 15). She also led the Flashes with eight rebounds (two offensive, six defensive) and three steals. She followed that effort up with her first double‐double as a member of the Golden Flashes, tallying a team‐high 17 points ‐‐ 12 of which came in the first half – to go along with a career‐high 12 rebounds (one offensive, nine defensive) and five assists to lead the team as Kent State edged Morehead State, 65‐64, last Friday (Nov. 18) in the squad’s home opener at the M.A.C. Center. Krewson leads the team in points (53), points per game (17.7), field goal percentage (.559), field goal attempts (34), field goals made (19), threepoint field goal percentage (.500), three‐point field goal attempts (14), three‐point field goals made (7), rebounds (26) and rebounds per game (8.7) for the season.
Porsha Harris, Ohio, Jr., F, Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young (Gulf Coast CC)
Porsha played an excellent game Saturday Ohio’s win over Marshall, exerting a physical presence in the post for the Bobcats. Her double‐double was a big part of Ohio’s ability to outrebound the Thundering Herd and score 36 points in the paint. Six of Harris’ rebounds were on the offensive end and she also added two assists. All of this was done in 31 minutes of play which only included two personal fouls.
Jazmin Hitchens, Ball State, So., F, St. Louis, Mo. (Incarnate Word Academy)
Jazmin Hitchens led the Cardinals with a career‐high 22 points plus added seven rebounds in the winning effort. Hitchens helped the Cardinals earn an 81‐72 victory over Murray State Saturday. In Ball State's two games this week Hitchens averaged 18.0 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 60 percent from the field. Hitchens seven rebound performance also helped Ball State out‐rebound the Racers 47‐to‐32. Hitchens was the leading scorer for the Cardinals early on in the week when Ball State played at SIU‐Edwardsville with 14 points.
Jas’Mine Bracey, Central Michigan, Fr., F, Saginaw, Mich./Inkster
Bracey recorded her first double‐double at Robert Morris when she posted 21 points and 11 rebounds. Her 21 points is a season high for CMU. She also led the offense over the weekend with her 18.5 average and 9.5 rebounds. Of her 19 total rebounds on the weekend eight of them came on the offensive side. She also chipped in with two blocks and two steals. She has also started every game thus far.
Tavelyn James, Eastern Michigan, Sr., G, Detroit, Mich.‐Mumford
Senior Tavelyn James has another strong week in leading the Eagles to a 2‐1 week. In three games, she averaged 26.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game. Her best contest came against Margrove when she poured in 32 points in the first half to set the EMU single‐half record for points in a game. Then at No. 23‐ranked Green Bay she tallied a season‐best seven steals.
Courtney Ingersoll, Toledo, Sr., G, Massillon, OH/Perry
Senior Courtney Ingersoll led a trio of UT players in double figures with 17 points at nationally ranked Green Bay on Wednesday. Ingersoll drained a career-high five triples to score in double digits for the 11th time in her collegiate career. Through the first two games, Ingersoll is averaging a team-high 12.0 points per game, shooting 50.0 percent (7-of-14) from the field, including 50.0 percent (6-of-12) from beyond the arc.
Miame Giden, Western Michigan, Sr., F, Broadview, Ill./Proviso East
Western Michigan senior Miame Giden led Western Michigan averaging 12.0 points and six rebounds in two games this week. At Michigan State, Giden recorded eight points, and followed that performance with 16 points and 11 rebounds against Eastern Kentucky. The double‐double was her second in three games and sixth of her career.
