MAC Names Bowling Green Maddy Eccleston (tennis) as Scholar Athlete of the Week
Bowling Green Maddy Eccleston (tennis)
Maddy Eccleston (#2 singles, #2/3 doubles, Jr., 3.92, health science) had a perfect 6-0 record at the Green and White Invitational in East Lansing, Mich., winning both singles and doubles flight titles. The team co-captain combined with classmate Jade Johnson to win the doubles crown at Flight C. She won all three of her singles matches in straight sets at Flight B, defeating players from host Michigan State and Wisconsin along the way. Eccleston ends the fall portion of the schedule with a team-best singles record of 12-2. She is 10-4 in doubles this season to date.
The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during the week’s competition. The winners are selected by a group of the conference’s faculty athletic representatives.
