Cleveland, Ohio -- Tuesday night’s showdown between MAC West contenders Northern Illinois and Toledo headlines the tenth week of the 2011 Mid-American Conference football season.
The NIU-Toledo matchup has huge MAC championship implications, as the Huskies trail the Rockets by just one game atop the MAC West standings. Toledo will be looking for payback after suffering a 65-30 setback to the Huskies in DeKalb last season. Game time is set for 7:00 pm ET on ESPN2 and ESPN 3D.
Wednesday and Thursday nights offer exciting MAC East showdowns -- Temple vs. Ohio and Akron vs. Miami. MAC East leader Temple looks to bounce back from an upset loss at Bowling Green when they travel to Athens Wednesday to take on the Ohio Bobcats. The Bobcats are 3-1 this season at home, and a win would put them back in serious contention for a MAC East championship. The game will be on ESPN at 8:00 pm ET. On Thursday night Akron will travel to Oxford to face off against defending MAC Champion Miami. Miami leads the all-time series 14-5-1 and has not lost to the Zips at home since 1939. The game will be on ESPNU at 7:30 pm ET.
The excitement of MAC football continues Friday as Central Michigan visits Kent State at 8 pm ET on ESPN2. The final MAC television game takes place in Ypsilanti Saturday when Eastern Michigan hosts Ball State. The Eagles are 3-1 in MAC play while the Cardinals find themselves 3-2 and one game back of EMU and NIU in the MAC West. The game can be seen at 12 Noon ET on ESPN Plus, ESPN Game Plan, and ESPN3.
