MAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Victoria Voronko, Eastern Michigan
Year: Freshman
Hometown/Previous School: Stavropol, Russia-School #42
Event: Bradley Classic – 6,000-meters
Finish in Event: 4th Place
Finishing Time: 21:04.43
Additional Information: Voronko has convincingly established herself as EMU's top runner this season after pacing the Green and White in four consecutive races. The freshman placed fourth out of 230 athletes in the Bradley Classic, completing the 6,000-meter race at the Newman Golf Course in 21:04.43 while maintaining a 5:40 pace throughout the event.

Additional Information: Bullard won the men's race 8K race at the Ball State Invitational last Friday (Oct. 14) with a time of 25:21.0 as all seven of Kent State's top finishers placed in the top nine – including four in the top five. The Golden Flashes stormed past Bowling Green, 17-42. Ball State will host the MAC finals at Elks Country Club in two weeks (Saturday, Oct. 29). The Kent State men's team will be looking to capture its second conference championship in three years.

For the fourth straight meet, sophomore Brad Hough recorded a top-10 finish by taking seventh overall among stiff competition and extremely wet conditions at the Penn State National last Friday. Despite the rain and mud, Hough completed the 5.2-mile race in 26:45, which was 27 seconds off the top finisher's pace. Thanks to Hough's efforts, Akron finished 10th in the 21-team field.

Additional Information: Conway was UB's top finisher for the second straight meet as he finished the 5.2 mile course under rainy and muddy conditions in 27:01.

Additional Information: Sanders was the top finisher for the Bulls at the Penn State National Meet. Sanders turned in a 23:26 clocking for 6K over a muddy course with driving rain. It was the second time this season, she's been UB's top finisher in her three races this season. She won the individual title at the UB Stampede Invitational earlier this year.

Tecumseh Adams, Central Michigan

Harbor Springs, Mich./Harbor Springs HS
Adams finished 17th in a field of 296 runners at the Pre-Nationals meet at Indiana State on Sunday. Adams covered the 8k course in 24:33, helping lead the Chippewas' to a 17th-place finish in the 35-team field. CMU was competing against a field that included eight teams either in the most recent USTFCCCA top 25 or earning votes. Behind Adams, the next closest MAC competitor finished in 89th place overall.

Raeanne Lohner, Central Michigan

Lohner finished 30th overall in a field of 303 runners at the Pre-Nationals meet at Indiana State on Sunday. Lohner covered the 6k women's course in 21:35, helping lead the Chippewas to a ninth-place finish in the 37-team field. The women's meet included 11 teams either ranked in the top 25 nationally or receiving votes in the poll.

Additional Information: Hancke paced the Eagles for the first time this season, completing the 8,000-meter New Balance Vic Matthews Open in 25:06.6 to place him 14th in a considerable 208-person field.

Additional Information: Foster was Kent State's top finisher on the women's side for the fifth straight meet, taking seventh in 22:20.5 in the Ball State Invitational last Friday (Oct. 14). The women's squad placed third with 70 points. Ball State will host the MAC finals at Elks Country Club in two weeks (Saturday, Oct. 29). The Kent State women's squad takes aim at its first title since 2004.

Wing was Miami’s top finisher at the Penn State National Meet, placing 31st in a field of 189, while clocking a time of 27:26 in a driving rain storm on a muddy course. It was his first time being Miami’s top finisher in his career. He helped Miami to a ninth-place finish at the 21-team meet.

Finish: 26th place
Time: 22:16
Miller was Miami’s top finisher at the Penn State National Meet, placing 26th out of 268 runners, while clocking 22:16 in a driving rain storm on a muddy course. It was her second race as Miami’s top finisher this year as she led Miami to a sixth-place finish in a 29-team field, which included three nationally ranked teams as well as two other MAC schools, both of which Miami finished ahead of. Miller was also the top MAC individual finisher at the race as Akron and Buffalo were also in attendance. She improved on her 32nd place finish from last year’s meet and was just 23 ticks behind the race’s winner.

Courtney Oldenburg

West Salem, Wis. (West Salem HS)
Event: Bradley Classic - 6K run
Oldenburg wrapped up the 2011 regular season with a stellar performance at the Bradley Classic in Peoria, Ill. The junior, despite only finishing 54th in the 200-plus runner field, crossed the finish line at a time of 22:42.09, which ranks as the 12th fastest 6K run in NIU cross country history. Her efforts helped the Huskies claim 14th place in the 21 team field that included Missouri, Saint Louis and Butler.

Name: Amber Brunmeier, Western Michigan

Hometown: Holland, Mich./West Ottawa HS
5k Time: 18:47.40 at the Michigan Intercollegiates
Brunmeier was the top finisher for the Broncos at the Michigan Intercollegiates with a 5k time of 18:47.40. She finished third overall and helped the Broncos to a second place finish, just shy of Michigan State. Brunmeier was able to get out to a fast start but smartly paced herself and was able to hang with the top pack of racers and finished just three seconds behind second place.
