With a 29-shot lead entering the final round, Kent State coasted to its third straight Mid-American Conference championship with a team score of 292 on Sunday at the TPC at River's Bend, the third time in the tournament that the remarkably consistent Golden Flashes put that number on the board. Junior Mackenzie Hughes held on to earn medalist honors at four under par, despite teammate John Hahn, hot on his heels throughout the day, playing in the group in front of him.

The host Miami RedHawks made the biggest leap on Sunday, shooting up the leaderboard from eighth to finish in fifth after turning in the low tally of the day with a 291. Senior and First-Team All-MAC member Nathan Sutherland led the way with a two-under par 70, the best individual round of the day.

Ball State matched Kent State's 292 to end the tournament in second place, a finish that proved enough to earn coach Mike Fleck the MAC Coach of the Year honors. Alex Stinson turned in the low round for the Cardinals with a 71 while Eric Steger carded a 74 to wrap up the tournament in third place as an individual.

Eastern Michigan narrowly edged out Akron for third place, firing an 1198 for the 72-hole event to the Zips' 1200. Eagles senior Nick Carbary as well as Zips sophomore Cameron Simmons earned All-Tournament honors as they tied for fifth place with six-over par totals of 294.

Northern Illinois finished sixth (1216), Bowling Green seventh (1221) and Toledo eighth (1229) while Ohio rounded out the field in ninth (1247).
