MAC Announces Gymnast and Specialist of the Week

Gymnast of the Week
Kristin Teubner, Central Michigan, Jr., Denver, Colo. / Grandview
Teubner won three events including the all-around to lead the Chippewas to a victory at Ball State in CMU's conference opener. Teubner tallied a career-high in the all-around with a 38.975 and tied for first on vault (9.775) and floor (9.800). She also had top three finishes on bars and beam.

Specialist of the Week
Lindsay Runyan, Kent State, So., Maineville, Ohio / Ursuline
Sophomore Lindsay Runyan (Maineville, Ohio) had another strong meet, winning the uneven bars with a score of 9.825 and taking third on the balance beam with a 9.800 as Kent State overcame injuries and a different time zone to dominate Sacramento State, 195.475-189.625, Friday (Jan. 14) at the Lady Luck Invitational at the South Point Hotel & Conference Center on Las Vegas Boulevard. Runyan is currently ranked as the 12th-best gymnast in the country on the uneven bars with an average score of 9.900.

Nicole Allen, Ball State, So., Buford, Ga./Hebron Christian Academy
Nicole Allen tied for first on the vault, tied for fifth on the bars, tied for seventh on the beam, tied for ninth on the floor and was third in the all-around with a 38.375 in Ball State's meet at Central Michigan.  Her tie for first on the vault with a 9.775 tied her career high.

Emily Wehrle, Ball State, So., New London, Wis. / New London
Emily Wehrle won the balance beam in Ball State's meet at Central Michigan with a career high 9.800.

Alyssa Wilson, Central Michigan, Fr., Rossville, Ga. / Ridgeland
For the second-straight week, Wilson captured the bars title with a 9.725 as Central Michigan defeated Ball State in CMU's conference opener.

Nikole Viltz, Eastern Michigan, Sr., Hawthorn Woods, Ill. / Carmel
Nikole Viltz led the Eagles to capture the win for their season opener. She finished first on the vault posting a 9.700 and second on the floor exercise recording a score of 9.675. Viltz also recieved an 8.650 for her performance on the balance beam.

Christina Lenny, Kent State, Sr., Broadview Heights, Ohio/Brecksville-Broadview Heights
Senior Christina Lenny (Broadview Heights, Ohio) made her 2011 season debut a memorable one, winning the all-around with a combined score of 39.325 as Kent State overcame injuries and a different time zone to dominate Sacramento State, 195.475-189.625, Friday (Jan. 14) at the Lady Luck Invitational at the South Point Hotel & Conference Center on Las Vegas Boulevard. She won the vault with a 9.825 and the balance beam with a 9.850 in addition to taking second on the floor exercise with a 9.800 and tying for second on the uneven bars with a 9.800.
