MAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Michael Calderone, Western Michigan - Junior, Grass Lake, Mich. (Jackson Lumen Christi High School)
Junior Michael Calderone completed a grueling day by going 6-for-6 during three team matches on Saturday to increase his career wins total to 146. Calderone won all three singles matches during the tripleheader in straight sets with wins at No. 1 singles against Dayton (6-1, 6-1) and Valparaiso (6-1, 6-4) and No. 2 singles against IPFW (6-0, 6-2). Calderone also went 1-0 at No. 1 doubles against Dayton (8-2) and teamed with junior Brad Noel for wins at No. 2 against IPFW (8-3) and Valparaiso (8-4).

Eduardo Pavia, Ball State - Junior, Carolina, Puerto Rico
Junior Eduardo Pavia defeated Big Ten foe Purdue Saturday at No. 1 singles after capturing a 6-4, 6-2 win over Slavako Bijelica. Pavia then teammed up with fellow Cardinal Dalton Albertin to earn an 8-6 defeat at No. 1 doubles over Purdue's P.J. Rose and Eric Ramos. Pavia improved his overall record to 2-1 for the season with the victory.
Roman Turtygin, Northern Illinois - Sophomore, Russia
Sophomore Roman Turtygin recorded his first-career win, a 6-0, 6-3 singles victory over Detroit's No. 3 singles player in Northern Illinois' 4-3 win over Detroit in East Lansing, Mich., last Friday. Turtygin then dropped a hard-fought 6-2, 6-2 decision the following day at Michigan State.
Knot Likitkumchorn, Toledo - Junior, Yala, Thailand
Junior Knot Likitkumchorn recorded a win at first singles and first doubles to lead the Rockets past Kenyon College in the team's lone match last week. His 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) singles victory clinched Toledo's win, and he teamed with Leo Sarria to help the Rockets take the doubles point with a 9-8 (7-4) win.
