Women’s Field
Stevi Large ? Akron
Senior - Somerset, Ohio / Sheridan HS
For the fourth time in four outdoor meets, won the hammer (212-10). Placed second in the discus (161-7) and third in the shot (49-4.50) At the All-Ohio Championships. She helped Akron win its fifth straight women's team title, scoring 24 points on her own. All three marks were NCAA Regional marks. In winning the hammer, she defeated a field that had a total of six regional qualifiers. Also, her throw was the second-best throw in MAC history behind her own 215-0, set earlier this year. Her mark of 215-0 is second-best in the NCAA and her mark of 212-10 would also rank third had she not thrown 215-0. Placed second in the discus with each of the top four reaching NCAA regional marks. Placed fifth in the shot with each of the top five posting NCAA regional marks. Large has won the hammer in all four outdoor meets this season, all with regional marks. In fact, three of the four have been over 200 feet and the fourth, a "season-low" 199-5 would still rank 11th-best in the NCAA and tops in the MAC.
