Bowling Green, OH ? Miami University won its first Mid-American Conference
women’s swimming and diving championships since 2005 by holding off a strong
challenge from Ohio on Saturday.
The champion RedHawks received championship performances from Alsyon Schmidt in
the 100 free and Kelsey Vehr in the 200 breaststroke. Ohio made its run by winning the
400 free relay, and taking individual titles from Stacey Huber in the 1650 free and Ashley
Marion in the 200 backstroke.
Bowling Green freshman Vicky Yu won the 200 fly and Akron’s Katie Carter took the 3-meter dive.
