KALAMAZOO -- The NCAA announced on Tuesday evening that Western Michigan will head to No. 4 Ohio State in the first round of the 2010 NCAA Men's Tennis Championship.
The Broncos (21-10) will take on the Buckeyes (32-1) on either Friday, May 14 or Saturday, May 15 at the Stickney Tennis Center in Columbus. The other half of the regional features Michigan (13-10) against Sun Belt Conference regular season champion Denver (19-4).
Western Michigan is 0-5 all-time against the Buckeyes, with the last meeting decided by one point, 4-3, in Columbus in 1999.
This will be the first ever meeting in the NCAA Tournament between WMU and OSU. The Buckeyes are the third Big Ten team that WMU will play in an NCAA Tournament following Illinois (2004, 2007, 2009) and Michigan (2008).
The Broncos are led by First Team All-MAC juniors Michael Calderone and Kazuya Komada and Second Team All-MAC members junior Casey Cullen and sophomore Pablo Olivarez.
