Hahn holed a 10-foot birdie putt on No. 18 to tie both Kent State and himself a share of the 42nd Robert Kepler Intercollegiate in Columbus. Ranked No. 35 in the nation, Golden Flashes claimed their second team victory in four weeks. With both eying birdie putts on the 18th green, Hahn and Illinois' Luke Guthrie were tied for the individual lead while their respective teams were deadlocked in the team standings. Guthrie, the nation's 22nd ranked player, was first to putt and rolled home a 25-foot birdie that sent off an exuberant celebration by the Illini team watching from the green side rough. Needing an answer Hahn, who is ranked 98th nationally, calmly drilled a 10-footer that not only tied Kent State for the team title, but gave him a share of individual medalist honors and his fourth victory of the season. He ended the final rounds with an even par 71 and closed the tournament with a three-under 210 (71-68-71). In addition to his four wins this season, Hahn is now tied for with Eric Frishette (1990-94) for first all-time at Kent State with seven career victories. Kent State finished the par 71, 7,151-yard, layout with a three-round total of 857 (291-286-280) to tie with No. 11 Illinois (294-283-280=857) which also had a 280 on Sunday. It was the Golden Flashes first win at the Robert Kepler since the program won three straight in 1993-1994-1995. The fourth victory ties Kent State for the second most in tournament history with Indiana and Northwestern. No. 26 Ohio State was third with an 860 while No. 9 Iowa took fourth at 872.

Parker Hewit earned a career-best third place finish at the 2011 Boilermaker Invitational, as he sandwiched round of 71 around a 75 to finish with a composite 217. Hewit has six top-20s and three top-10s during his nine events thus far this season and has finished 10th or better in consecutive weeks.

Eastern Michigan University freshman Brian Churchill-Smith (Oakville, Ontario, Canada-Oakville Trafalgar) turned in his fifth top-20 showing of the season, turning in a tie for 20th place at the the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate, April 23-24. The Oakville, Ontario native carded a 72 in the final round to finish with a 221 (74-75-72). With light rain falling on the 7,455 yard, par-71 Scarlet Course at the OSU Golf Club, the Eagles finished in ninth place with a team score of 907 (309-305-293) as the University of Illinois and Kent State University shared the invitational hardware with a 857.

Senior Jeff Dick nailed down his first top-10 of the spring with a final-round 75. Though unable to hold onto the lead in this one, the Texan battled furiously to a solo fifth-place finish. His season-low first-round score of a four-under 68 held up as the tournament's best in spite of the field's low scoring average on Sunday. All in all, the performance gives him three straight appearances in the top-20 heading into his last MAC Championships.
