Men’s Tennis Player of the Week

Senior ● Battle Creek, MI/Central

went undefeated and moved his overall record to 39-23 for the season. He played at the No. 2 spot in all four matches, playing doubles with freshman Sven Burus. They were the lone team with the win, 8-1, in doubles against CSU. In singles, Clark beat the Cougars Prakoso Imanuel, 6-3, 6-1, for the point. Against IPFW, Clark defeated Nabil Mourad Filho, 7-6(4) 6-1, in singles and the team of Carlos Gonzalaz and Arturo Salgado, 8-2, with Burus.

Octavian Stane, Buffalo

Stane scored singles and doubles victories for the Bulls on Saturday against George Washington. Stane and partner Nikesh Singh Panthlia defeated Ryan Hunter and Mustafa Gencsoy, 8-5, in the number one doubles match, although the Bulls were unable to claim the doubles point. In singles play, Stane, at number three, scored a straight-sets win over GW¹s Elliott Daniels, 6-2, 6-4.


Jimmy Chu, Northern Illinois
Junior Jimmy Chu and doubles mate Alex Friesen extended their winning streak to nine matches with a pair of victories over both Eckerd (8-0) and Flagler (8-6). In individual action, Chu lost just eight games in two matches with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Alex McDonald (Eckerd) and a 6-4, 6-4 triumph over Flagler College's Harry Snoxell.
