MAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Nick Brenner, Toledo, Freshman

EMU Fall XC Classic -- 5K

Nick Brenner paced the Rocket men competing at the EMU Fall XC Classic, taking 35th place in a field of 86 runners from several Michigan and Ohio schools, along with several Eastern Michigan alumni. Brenner led the Rockets for the first time this season.

Sgaglio placed fifth behind three unattached runners and a Cortland athlete in the 43-man race. Sgaglio was the only UB entrant in the race as the Bulls rested most of their team for the upcoming MAC Championships.

MAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Lei Bornhorst, Toledo, Sophomore
Minster, OH (Minster)
EMU Fall XC Classic -- 5k
Time: 18:49.4
Competing in just her second race of the season, Bornhorst paced the Rockets with a 12th-place finish. Her time of 18:49.4 bested her previous time by four minutes (BGSU Dual, 9/3/10). There was no team scoring in the event, which featured a number of Michigan schools including the University of Michigan, Michigan State, and MAC counterpart and host Eastern Michigan. Bornhorst finished a full minute ahead of the top runner for the Eagles, and just 35 seconds behind the first-place runner from Michigan.

Swartwood was UB's top finisher at the Cornell Reif Invitational placing 26th among 42 entrants. Just four UB women competed in the race, as most of the squad rested for the upcoming MAC Championships.
