MAC Annouces Women's Tennis Player of the Week

Guirguis went 6-0 in three matches during the Rockets annual spring break trip. In doubles, she paired with Martina Wodzinski for two wins and Ashley Frey for one. Guirguis only allowed her opponents to win eight sets in the six matches she played. She has a 15-9 singles record this season and is currently on a five-match winning streak. In doubles, Guirguis is a combined 21-3 with Wodzinski and Frey this season.

Haly Calderwood, Ball State University
Calderwood went 1-1 in singles play in the Cardinals two matches this week. Calderwood won both of her doubles matches with teammate Jennifer Pollack at the No. 1 spot over Butler and UW-Milwaukee. Calderwood helped Ball State improve their overall record to 7-4 on the season.

Katia Babina, Bowling Green
Went 4-0 on the week as the Falcons won a pair of road matches to set a new school record for best start to a season ... won at #3 singles and #3 doubles at both UC San Diego and Cal Poly Pomona, helping BG improve to 11-0 on the season ... the 11 consecutive wins (regardless of time of year) ties a school mark, while the 11 wins at the start of a season is a new record ... against UCSD, teamed with classmate Samantha Kintzel for an 8-1 win at the third doubles flight ... then, posted a straight-sets win over Justine Ang Fonte, 6-2, 7-5, at the third singles level ... in the Pomona match, teamed with Kintzel for an 8-3 win in doubles, and lost only two games in her singles win (6-0, 6-2) over Mallory Brady ... on the season, is now 32-9 overall, with a 12-6 singles mark and a team-best 20-3 doubles record ... has won five consecutive singles matches and 10-straight doubles contests ... the Falcons are ranked #60 in the nation in the latest ITA rankings (March 4).
