Women’s Golfer of the Week:
Catherine Fortin, Eastern Michigan, Sr., Beauceville, Canada-Polyvalente St. Francois
The Eagles were led individually by senior Catherine Fortin (Beauceville, Canada-Polyvalente St. Francois) in second place with a two-under 214 (71-71-72). The runner-up showing was Fortin’s best finish of the fall and marked her 12th career top five finish and 27th career top 20 showing. In addition to being Fortin's career-low collegiate tournament, the three-round score is the lowest in school history besting her mark of 216 set at both the Shootout at the Legends, Oct. 9-10, 2006, and at the Rocket Fall Classic, Sept. 24-25, 2005.
Carley Hrusovsky, Bowling Green, Sr., North Canton, Ohio/Hoover
Carley Hrusovsky finished 36th at the Shootout for the Legends, carding a 237 for 54 holes. She fired a 79-78 on day one and finished with a 80 on the final day.
Jessica Parmenter, Northern Illinois, Fr., Peoria, Ill. Peoria Christian
Freshman Jessica Parmenter took ninth place at the Shoot-out at the Legends at Legends Golf Course Mon.-Tues. She was the highest Huskie on the leaderboard, turning in a final round 74, shooting 227 for the tournament to finish tied for ninth with two other competitors. She was the lone Huskie to crack the Top 10.
Erica Rivard, Toledo, Fr., Tecumseh, ONT/Belle River District
Rivard shot a season-low round of 72 in the first round and tied for 12th finishing with a 228 at the Shootout at the Legends.
Ohio and Western Michigan did not compete this week.
