Freshman Katelyn Lofland broke the school record in the 1,650 yard freestyle to help lift the University of Akron swimming and diving team to a 168-127 victory over Buffalo on Friday evening at the Ocasek Natatorium.In her first collegiate run in the 1650 free, Lofland shattered the school record by 11 seconds with a time of 17:22.48. The record time of 17:33.48 was previously held by teammate Danielle Beland, who posted that mark on Jan. 28, 2005 in the ONAT against Toledo.

In Miami's dual meet win over Ball State, Frazier tied her own varsity record in the 100 breaststroke with a first-place time of 1:04.18. Frazier had set the Miami varsity record in her first collegiate meet, but she tied her standard again against the Cardinals. Frazier also swept the breaststroke events by turning in a first-place time in the 200 breaststroke (2:21.94), and her pair of wins helped Miami win its 42nd consecutive Mid-American Conference dual meet.

Letendre scored 21 points to help EMU down Toledo, 168-130, and remain unbeaten on the season at 3-0. She claimed the top-spot in the 1650- yard freestyle, clocking in at nearly seven second ahead of the second place finisher. Lentendre also won the 200-yard butterfly and finished third in the 500-yard freestyle.

She won both the 100 and 200 Backstrokes. In the 200 she beat her own personal best by 4 tenths of a second. And is now number seventh on the all time list for UT.

In the Bulls' narrow 168-127 setback to the Akron Zips on Friday, freshman Samantha Palma claimed a pair of victories for the Bulls in both the 50-yard freestyle (24.82) and the 100-yard freestyle (53.97).

Sayler earned first place in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 58.82. Sayler then took top honors in the 200 yard back at Miami University after clocking in a time of 2:06.15.

Ilse Petersen won three events in three tries versus Division III powerhouse Kenyon College on Friday and then logged two firsts and a second against MAC foe BGSU on Saturday. On Friday Petersen touched first in the 200 Free (1:54.13) and the 500 free (5:02.16) and the 200 Free Relay (1:38.28). On Saturday Petersen trimmed a full second off of her 200 freestyle when touching the wall first in 1:53.05. Additionally, Ilse finished second in the 100 free in a time of 53.66. Ilse capped off her weekend with a victory in the 200 free relay (1:37.89). Petersen's 100 free and 200 free against BGSU, and 500 free against Kenyon were all season bests.
