MAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

Kari Summers, Ohio, Junior, Troy, Ohio          

Ohio Invitational (5K)

Time: 17:36.0 

Summers, a two-time First Team All-MAC performer, placed second in the Ohio Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 27. She led her team to a second place finish, totaling 30 points, behind the University of Cincinnati, who has now won three consecutive meets.

Kara Butler, Bowling Green, Senior, Okemos, Mich.   

Stanford Invitational (6K)

Time: 22:14

A career-best 6,000 meter time of 22:14 by senior Kara Butler (Okemos, Mich.), helped the Bowling Green State University women's cross country team finish 16th of 33 teams Saturday at the 35th Annual Stanford University Cross Country Invitational at the Stanford Golf Course. Butler finished 29th overall of 278 runners in an event that featured many of the country's top squads. For Butler, it was the third-straight event that she has finished as the Falcons' No. 1 runner.

 

Natalie Webb, Eastern Michigan, Freshman, Allen Park, Mich.

Loyola Lakefront Invitational (5K)

Time: 18:40

For the second straight week, freshman Natalie Webb was the top EMU runner. She finished the 5K course in a time of 18:40, good for 18th place.

 


 

MAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

Shamus Eaton, Ohio, Senior, Uniontown, Ohio           

Ohio Invitational (8K)

Time: 25:08.7 

Eaton took first place in the Ohio Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 27. He was one of only two Bobcat runners to finish in the top ten. His previous career-best finish was 10th in two events last season. Eaton helped his team to a second-place showing behind the University of Cincinnati.
