The next day, after the teams split the first two matches, the duo earned a 9-7 win over the Eastern Michigan duo to put Miami up 1-0. Honiball and Parr are now 8-2 on the year, all during the spring season. In singles, Honiball posted wins of 6-2, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-3, respectively, over the two days to run her personal winning streak to three.

Additional Nominees:

Maddy Eccleston, Bowling Green - Sophomore, Toledo, Ohio

Bowling Green sophomore Maddy Eccleston went 3-1 as the Falcons split a pair of road matches to begin the MAC schedule last weekend.  On Friday, Eccleston teamed with senior Christine Chiricosta for an 8-6 doubles win at the top flight against Buffalo, then, she downed Buffalo's Aleksandra Petrova in straight sets at the number-two singles flight. In Saturday's match at Akron, Eccleston and Chiricosta again picked up an 8-6 victory at the top doubles flight, then, Eccleston extended Angelina Jogasuria, an All-MAC First-Team selection last season, to three sets before falling at the second flight. On the year, Eccleston is now 19-8 in singles play, including a 10-4 mark in dual matches.  Eccleston has combined with Chiricosta for a 19-7 doubles mark, including an 11-3 record, 2-0 in MAC duals.  Eccleston has 39 total wins this season, tied for second on the team.

Chrissy Coffman, Toledo - Freshman, Akron, Ohio (Firestone High School)

Toledo freshman Chrissy Coffman continued her successful freshman campaign by picking up another pair of wins over the weekend. Coffman claimed one of the two Rocket singles wins in their 5-2 loss to Miami, defeating the RedHawks' Mohan 6-4, 6-0 in the No. 5 slot. She was dominant in her next match at Ball State, picking up straight-sets 6-0, 6-0 wins over Ball State's Boulleris at No. 4 singles. Coffman has now won four straight and has stretched her regular-season record to a team-leading 14-2.

Jill Pastunink, Western Michigan - Sophomore, Zeeland, Mich.

Western Michigan sophomore Jill Pastunink posted a 3-1 overall week for the Broncos last week, going a perfect 2-0 in doubles play and 1-1 in singles play against conference opponents Akron and Buffalo.  The Broncos are now 1-1 in MAC play and have won seven of their past 10 matches.  Pastunink teamed with Maggie Remynse to defeat Akron's duo of Jeremie Benjamin and Anya Baronayte 8-6 in the No. 3 doubles match on March 25, the only doubles pairing to win for the Broncos in that match.  Pastunink would team with Maria Nivia just one day later against Buffalo, defeating the pair of Aleksandra Petrova and Kira Golenko 8-1 in the No. 2 doubles match.  Pastunink also picked up a win in singles play, defeating Buffalo's Marta Stoyanova 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 3 singles match. The Broncos would win the overall match 6-1.  Overall, Pastunink is tied for the team lead with 16 singles wins and has gone 7-3 in her past 10 singles matches; she is also tied for the team lead in doubles wins with 14 doubles wins, including a 7-1 record in the No. 3 doubles matches.
