McCall posted an NCAA Provisional mark in winning the high jump. Cleared 7-00.25 (2.14) and defeated second place by six inches.

Kelly Gephart, Kent State

Gephart won the women’s mile with a personal-best time of 4:57.58 at the Akron Dual. Gephart’s time ranks fifth on the Golden Flashes’ all-time indoor track and field list.

Meet: Akron/Kent State Dual Meet
Posted an NCAA automatic distance in the weight throw and a provisional distance in the shot put. Automatically qualified for this March’s NCAA Indoor Championships with her winning throw of 69-8.75 (21.25) in the weight throw. The Somerset product’s throw is the best effort in the nation to date and was just six inches off her school and Mid-American Conference record in the event (70-3.50). Large additionally posted and NCAA provisional qualifying mark in winning the shot put. Her distance of 50-8.75 was two inches better than KSU’s LeVania Henderson, who entered the meet ranked ninth in the NCAA in the event with a throw of 51-2.25.
