MAC Men's Swimmer of the Week
Alex Seward, Evansville
Sophomore, San Antonio, Texas, (Winston Churchill)
In a dual meet against Eastern Illinois, Seward finished with a first place time in all three of his individual events. His time of 49.96 in the 100-fly is currently the fastest finish in the MAC and was just split seconds away from beating the UE record of 49.22. Seward was also a part of the second place 400 freestye relay team.

Krupa scored a pair of wins for the Cardinals in a 119-170 loss at Eastern Michigan last Saturday. Krupa took home top billing in both the 200 breaststroke (2:11.50) and the 100 butterfly (50.92). His time in the 200 fly ranks second in the Mid-American Conference, while his 200 breaststroke time is fifth. Krupa also swam a leg for the first-place 400 freestyle relay (3:12.18) and the third-place 200 medley relay (1:36.22).

Chris Gunnels, Miami
Junior, Chapel Hill, N.C. (Chapel Hill)
Won the 100-yard freestyle (47.09) against Purdue. Also finished second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.26) and led-off the 400-yard freestyle relay team that finished first (3:10.88). Won the 100-yard backstroke (52.18) and finished second by just 23 hundredths of a second in the 200-yard backstroke (1:53.76). He also led-off for the event-winning 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:08.04).

Chris Novak, Missouri State
Senior, Kansas City, Mo. (Park Hill South)
During the Missouri State/Southern Illinois dual, Novak turned in a time of 2:07.22 in the 200-yard breaststroke, the top time in the MAC this season. Novak also turned in a 58.31 breaststroke split in the 400-yard medley relay (the current fastest time in the 100-yard breaststroke is 58.80. Over the summer, Novak qualified for the US Olympic Trials in the 100- and 200-meter breaststroke.
