Western Michigan Picked To Defend Its MAC Men's Tennis Championship

Cleveland, OH - In the preseason poll conducted among the Mid-American Conference men's tennis coaches, Western Michigan was the overwhelming choice to capture both the regular season title and the MAC Tournament championship.
The Broncos are the defending tournament champion and were a unanimous selection to defend both titles. Last season, Western Michigan earned its fifth consecutive MAC title over Buffalo. The Broncos will host the 2011 MAC Men's Tennis Tournament, which is scheduled for April 28-30 in Kalamazoo, Mich.
Western Michigan will return 2010 First Team All-MAC selections senior Michael Calderone and senior Kazuya Komada, as well as Second Team All-MAC honorees junior Pablo Olivarez and senior Casey Cullen.
Other returning First-Team All MAC selections from last year are sophomore Wojciech Starakiewicz of Buffalo, sophomore Maksym Bartiuk of Northern Illinois and senior Aleksandar Elezovic of Toledo. Returning Second-Team All MAC selections from last year include junior Cliff Morrison of Ball State, senior Marcelo Mazzetto of Buffalo and seniors Knot Likitkumchorn and Sven Burus of Toledo.
The complete voting totals are as follows with five of the six head coaches casting votes.
