MAC Women's Swimmer of the Week
Sarah Kehe, Ball State - Senior, Westville, Ind. (Chesterton High School)
Sarah Kehe helped guide the Cardinals to a first place finish at the Ball State Relay Invitational by swimming on four first-place relay squads. Kehe started the meet by swimming the final leg for the first-place 300 butterfly relay which earned a time of 2:58.62 to win by almost 11 seconds. Kehe swam the first leg for the first-place winning 800 freestyle relay which timed out at 7:57.92, over 21 seconds faster than the next closest relay. Kehe swam the third leg for the first-place 500 freestyle relay squad that clocked in at 4:50.50. Kehe was the second swimmer for the 400 medley relay which took first with a time of 4:18.30.
MaryRose Hillstrom, Ohio - Freshman, Dimondale, Mich. (Holt High School)
Freshman MaryRose Hillstrom tallied three wins and a third-place finish in four opportunities this weekend while leading Ohio to dual meet victories over Denison and Youngstown State University. Hillstrom earned two NCAA Zone qualifying scores against Denison, diving's equivalent to swimming's NCAA "B" cut, including a school record on the one meter diving board (298.05) and a personal best on the three meter diving board (294.90). Not only was her one-meter score a school record but her three-meter mark is second all-time at Ohio University.
Laura Lindsay, Toledo - Sophomore, Uniontown, Ohio (Green High School)
Sophomore Laura Lindsay recorded a pair of event wins and an NCAA "B" time as the No. 47 Rockets fell to No. 30 Ohio State 161-133 on Saturday. Lindsay picked up a victory in the 100 breaststroke in a mark of 1:02.74 to hit the qualifying time. She also recorded a victory in the 200 breaststroke with her season-best time of 2:17.00, which was just .17 off of another NCAA qualifying time. Lindsay was a member of Toledo's first-place 200 medley relay team, with a 24.77 split. For the season, Lindsay has 13 event victories in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, and she has been a member of five first-place medley relay teams.
Brianna Emig, Eastern Michigan - Freshman, Sewickley, Pa. (Ambridge High School)
Freshman Brianna Emig raced to two first place finishes and a second place tally in the Eagles' narrow dual meet loss to Oakland. In the 1,000-yard free, Emig touched the wall in 10:15.95, 10 seconds faster than the next closest finisher. She followed that up with a win in the 500-yard free and second place finish in the 200-yard free.

MAC Men's Swimmer of the Week
Ben Battjes, Ball State - Senior, Elkhart, Ind. (Elkhart Memorial High School)
Senior Ben Battjes helped guide the Cardinals to a first-place finish at the Ball State Relay Invitational by swimming on four first-place relay squads. Battjes opened the meet by swimming the first leg for the first-place 300 butterfly relay that posted a time of 2:39.06. His second relay victory came in the 500 freestyle relay when he swam the first leg for the team that posted a time of 4:20.65. He also swam the first legs for the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:28.05) and the winning 400 medley relay (3:44.78).
Daan Jansen, Missouri State - Freshman, Polokwane, South Africa
Freshman Daan Jansen participated in the 2010 Tunica Invitational, which represented the first collegiate meet of Jansen's career. Jansen competed in the 200-yard IM (1:58.48), 200-yard Backstroke (1:53.85) and the 400-yard IM (4:07.53). His finish in the 400 IM gives him the 7th-best time in the MAC.
Chris Nash, Evansville - Junior, Colorado Springs, Colo. (Coronado High School)
Junior Chris Nash shined on Sunday at Saint Louis though the Aces suffered a tough 126-98 loss. Nash placed first in the 100 back (54.10) and first in the 400 medley relay (3:36.11) as the first leg of the team.
Jacob Hanson, Eastern Michigan - Freshman, Bloomington, Ill. (Normal Community)
Freshman Jacob Hanson led the Eagles as he captured three individual wins in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke and the 200-yard IM in a dominating 202-98 victory over Oakland last Saturday. After leading the 200-yard medley relay to a win, Hanson upped his win total to 19 so far this season with 12 of those being individual victories.
