Monica Gorny ? Miami
Freshman - Pietermaritzburg, South Africa (The Wykeham Collegiate)
At No. 1 singles, Versus Buffalo, defeated Denise Harijanto 6-3, 6-4; against Akron defeated Zara Harutyunyan 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. In No. 2 doubles, versus Buffalo (w/Anastasia Dracheva) defeated Aleksandra Petrova/Diana Toia 8-2, against Akron (w/Riekie Honiball) defeated Tanyaradzwa Gombera/Carolina Castro Cota 8-5. Gorny was 4-0 during the week and has now won seven straight singles matches and 11 straight in doubles... She is 12-3 overall this season, including 8-1 at No. 1... Her win on Saturday against Zara Harutyunyan marked the first time the Zip freshman had lost this spring, snapping a streak of more than 20 matches.

Senior - Dublin, Ohio (Bishop Watterson)
Won handily in both singles and doubles as the Falcons downed Northern Illinois, 6-1, in the team's lone match of the week ... defeated NIU's Lilian Asuaje, 6-3, 6-0, at the top singles flight ... teamed with Christine Chiricosta for an 8-1 win at the #1 doubles flight ... that doubles team is now 9-2 in dual-match play, including a perfect 4-0 in the MAC, and 17-6 on the year ... Jakupcin now has a career total of 138 combined wins to rank eighth on the BGSU list ... she is 12th all-time with 67 singles wins, and is tied for sixth with a total of 71 career doubles victories.
Denise Harijanto ? Buffalo
Junior - Jakarta, Indonesia
Harijanto went 3-1 on the weekend as the Bulls split their matches. Harijanto went a perfect 2-0 in doubles play as she has now won eight straight doubles matches at number one with partner Diana Popescu. Despite an early 3-0 hole, the duo came back to defeat Miami 9-7. They then won their match at Ball State 8-2. In singles play, Harijanto swept her opponent from Ball State with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking. Harijanto leads the team in singles wins and is tied for doubles victories.
Emily Rogers ? Northern Illinois
Freshman - Rochester, Minn./Century
Rogers extended her personal winning streak to five matches with a pair of wins over MAC foes Bowling Green and Western Michigan last weekend. She accounted for NIU's lone point in each of the dual match losses. Rogers leads the Huskies with a 12-4 singles record this season. Rogers def. Maria Nivia (WMU) 6-4, 1-6, 10-6; and def. Katia Babina (BGSU) 1-6, 6-0, 6-4.
Maha Guirguis ? Toledo
Sophomore - Cairo, Egypt/Manor House
Guirguis collected two more wins this weekend against Eastern Michigan. Guirguis picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win in No. 2 singles and picked up yet another doubles victory with an 8-4 win in No. 1 doubles. Guirguis is now 20-5 in the 2008-09 season including a 15-2 spring record with a 6-1 No. 2 singles record. In doubles this spring, Guirguis has paired with two partners and is a combined 13-4.
Jenny Nalepa ? Western Michigan
Freshman - Brighton, Mich. (Brighton)
Jenny Nalepa defeated Martina Schnapp 6-3, 6-4 to win her seventh match in a row at No. 3 singles and improved to 11-4 overall at No. 3. For the season, Nalepa leads all WMU freshmen with 41 combined wins, including 24 singles wins.
