MAC Announces Men's Tennis Player of the Week

Men’s Tennis Player of the Week:

Michael Calderone
Western Michigan
Freshman ● Grass Lake, Mich. (Jackson Lumen Christi)

Calderone went 5-1 in singles and doubles against No. 41 Minnesota, No. 52 Drake and host Purdue at the Boilermaker Invitational. Calderone was undefeated in singles play (3-0) and dropped only one doubles match (2-1) to the 41st-ranked Golden Gophers.

Nikesh Singh Panthlia, Buffalo
Singh Panthlia went 2-1 in singles play in UB’s opening weekend in California. He defeated San Francisco’s Asaf Cohen, 7-5, 6-2 and UC Davis’ Michael Reiser, 6-4, 6-2. He and doubles partner Octavian Stane also scored a win against UC Davis’ Nic Amaroli and Nick Lopez, 8-2, as the Bulls captured the doubles point against the Aggies. Singh Panthlia is 11-4 in singles play in 2007-08.


Brian Livingston, Northern Illinois
Livingston improved his 2007-08 singles record to 8-4 with a 6-2, 6-1 triumph over IUPUI's Gabriel Gracia at No. 1 singles, helping NIU to a 6-1 victory over the Jaguars. Livingston later teamed up with senior Adam Ford for a 8-3 triumph at No. 1 doubles over Gracia and Javier Saab to bring their season record to 8-3.


Nutthavit Likitkumchorn, Toledo
Likitkumchorn went 2-1 in singles and 2-1 in doubles over the three matches. He was 4-0 on the first day of play and the only one with a win against Notre Dame with partner Jared Miller.
