MAC Announces Women's Golfer of the Week

Laura Bavaird, Western Michigan, Senior, Grosse Ile, Mich./Grosse Ile HS

Laura Bavaird has led the Western Michigan team in the Xavier Invitational where she finished tied for 9th place shooting a 225 for the tournament. She has also led WMU in individual finishes in each event this fall where she has finished in the top 10 in all three events.

Brittany Kelly, Ball State, Freshman

Freshman Brittany Kelly fired rounds 79-73 to tie for 29th overall as the Ball State women’s golf team finished 8th at the UNC-Greensboro Starmount Classic in N.C.  Kelly’s final-round 73 propelled the Cardinals from last into eighth in the competitive field.


Carley Hrusovsky, Bowling Green, Senior, Canton, Ohio

It was probably the Falcons' toughest test of the season senior Carley Hrusovsky carded back-to-back 79s to open the LPGA International Xavier Invite. She finished with an 83 for a 54 hole score of 241, good enough for 48th overall.


Katie Stafford, Ohio, Senior, Phoenix, Ariz./Shadow Mountain HS

Stafford led the Ohio contingent in Daytona Beach with a 242 in the Xavier Invitational at LPGA International. Her 78 in the second round was her best 18-hole score this year, and the best round on an Ohio golfer in the event.
