MAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Madeleine Pilchard ? Eastern Michigan
Senior - Marietta, Ga.-Walton
Pilchard helped EMU defeat Miami, 159-141 this past weekend. Pilchard won the 50 freestyle (23.70), the 200 freestyle (1:51.19) and the 500 freestyle (5:04.24). She also helped the 800 freestyle relay team win the final event of the day (7:42.94)

Stephanie Paul ? Ball State
(Mishawaka, Ind./Mishawaka)
Paul took both of the diving events in a 165-135 loss to Ohio University at Lewellen Aquatic Center on Saturday afternoon. Paul scored a 231.5 on the 1-meter then continued her success with a victory in the 3-meter after posting a score of 251.86.
Alisha Yee ? Bowling Green
Junior - Las Vegas, Nevada/Las Cruces
The junior won the 100 back in 58.27 against Buffalo. With this win, Yee completed a perfect season in this event against MAC competition, going 6-0.
Meili Carpenter ? Buffalo
Sophomore - Boulder, CO/Fairview
Carpenter swept both springboard competitions on Saturday against Bowling Green, breaking her own school record on the three-meter board. Carpenter compiled a six-dive total of 336.10 points, eclipsing her old mark of 333.08 set two weeks ago at Niagara. Carpenter also won the one-meter diving with a total score of 272.00 points.
Malarie Schmidt - Miami
Junior -Batavia, Ill. (Rosary)
Schmidt swam in seven events over the weekend and earned six first-place finishes and a second-place finish as the RedHawks defeated Kenyon College, 147-88, and lost to Eastern Michigan, 141-159. Against Kenyon, Schmidt swam the opening leg on the 400 medley relay team that earned a first-place finish, before touching the wall in a time of 2:08.15 in the 200 IM to finish in second. Schmidt bounced back with a first-place time of 2:06.39 in the 200 backstroke. Schmidt was easily Miami’s top swimmer against Eastern Michigan as she swam in four events and all four resulted in first-place finishes for the Red and White. Just like Friday’s meet, Schmidt swam as part of Miami’s “A” relay team that finished first in the 200 medley relay. Schmidt then proceeded to sweep the 100 and 200 backstroke events with a time of 57.90 and 2:05.92, respectively. Schmidt won the 100 backstroke by over two seconds. In her last event of the week, Schmidt swam a time of 2:08.19 in the 200 IM, winning by a slim margin of .74 seconds.
Rachel Heim - Ohio
Freshman - San Diego, Calif./Horizon
Heim won five events and set two pool records to lead the Bobcats to two victories and extend their dual-meet winning streak to seven. Heim opened the week against Xavier, where she won the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke in times of 57.54 and 58.97, respectively, both pool records at the O’Conner Sports Center. The San Diego, Calif. native followed that performance with three more wins in a victory at Ball State. Heim touched the wall first in the 100-yard butterfly (57.39) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:06.23) and swam the anchor leg of Ohio's first-place 800-yard freestyle relay team (7:42.13).
Megan McKinley ? Toledo
Senior - Silver Lake, OH (Cuyahoga Falls)
Broke two records in diving events against Akron. In the one-meter, McKinley broke her own team record that she set earlier this year with a point total of 306.52. She also broke her pool record of 310.27 in the three-meter board with a point total of 329.56.
