MAC Women’s Golfer Of The Week

Catherine Fortin, Eastern Michigan, Jr., Beauceville, Canada (Polyvalente St. Francois)

Fortin (t-13th), who carded an 80 during play Sunday, following up her 77 and 75 during play on Saturday at the Lady Buckeye Invitational. The Beauceville, Canada native was the third highest finishing Mid-American Conference golfer in the tournament along with recording her 10th consecutive top 20 appearance this season.

Elise Swartout, Western Michigan, Fr., Ann Arbor, Mich. (Ann Arbor Pioneer)

Led the Western Michigan golf team in a tournament for the first time during her rookie campaign.  The freshman finished the Lady Buckeye Invitational tied with three other golfers for 26th.  She traversed the three rounds and grinded to a total of 239 (+23) to lead the Broncos.  This event was her third top-30 finish of the season and second-straight.  She finished tied for 22nd at the IU Invitational and tied for 16th at the Shoot Out at the Legends during the fall portion of the year.

 

Kristen Mautz, Ohio, Sr., Upper Arlington, Ohio (Upper Arlington)

Mautz led the Bobcats against a strong field at the Lady Buckeyes Spring Invitational with a 54-hole score of 239, which tied her for 26th in the field of 87 competitors.  The Bobcat senior shot 77, 79, 83 in the tourney.
