No. 2 Bowling Green Takes On No. 5 Eastern Michigan in MAC Tournament Championship

The Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team returns to the court Saturday afternoon, March 12, to square off with the Falcons of the Bowling Green State University in the championship game of the 2011 Mid-American Conference Tournament at Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena. The Eagles, seeded fifth in the tournament, sport a 22-11 mark. For the first time since the 2003-04 season and the second time overall, the Eagles have advanced to the championship game of the MAC Tournament. EMU is 1-0 all-time in the contest that decided the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. The Green and White defeated BGSU, 65-56, in the 2004 finale, March 13. After Friday's 61-55 win over Toledo, EMU now has a record of 2-4 in semi-final round games in the league tourney over the years. The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team, for the third consecutive year and the 13th time in school history, has advanced to the championship game of the Mid-American Conference Tournament. The Falcons enter the EMU game with an all-time record of 41-16 in the league tourney. BGSU's win total is the second highest among MAC teams, and the Falcons' .719 winning percentage is the best in the league. BG's total of 10 MAC Tournament titles is also the highest of any league institution. BGSU has a 4-2 tournament record against EMU, including a 2-1 mark at Quicken Loans Arena.
